Micromouse 2008 - update 2

Some good entries yesterday.

The schools from Singapore performed very well. Apparently the Singapore schools have a standard chassis and base software which has some sort of graphic front end. This means it becomes possible for the kids to compete in the maze solver competition. The individual mice performed significantly differently - not just going different routes with significantly times but also having mechanical modifications where, for instance, some were much quieter than others.

Quite a few people had problems running around the maze - even the winner Derek Hall had problems with some of the speed runs.

The guys from Iran ran well as well - I believe it was a B.Sc project, which is very impressive given the short time to develop a mouse from scratch (mechanics, electronics and software) and the fact you are usually busy with other course work.

All in all a very good day.
