Humans vs. Machines

Humans win - especially if they set the rules. I'm trying to teach a computer (ok, write a program) to spot a Metar weather string. I've also got code to extract specific information out of a web page. Both really quite difficult specifically because both were really meant to be read by humans. "Web pages!" I hear you cry - they were specifically designed to be read by computers! Well, certainly the web pages meant to be read by computers, but the content was certainly not.

Additionally I've also spotted one of the other programs has become somehow broken. That's what you get when your program interacts with other peoples programs and data.

Oh well , back to Metar weather strings and fixing broken programs.
